I made something like this but its targeted it more life management, like extending the programs inmates are on when inside and connecting them to all the services needed like Rehab, Education, Job Training etc... Its also based on their prison manuals and works via phone system or voice. I didn't just want a chatbot I wanted an actual program manager assistant that can help with every aspect of re-entry and each protocol is open and fully customizable so the agent never goes off the rails and refers back to the HITL that can be plugged in at any point.
Right now I am working on connecting it to community resources so that it can provide more of an overarching governance for re-entry that can be audited as needed for the application of interventions.
Incarceration is a tragedy for everyone, and this could be fantastic for low-risk inmates, but the first thing I thought of is what an immediate security gap this can be.

You don't need AI to figure out how to make a prison shank in prison, you can just ask your cellmate.

My experience is that the LLM will be less creative than the human in this situation. Necessity is the mother of invention. Prison is a special sort of neolithic age.

>And at some point, I realized that [he’d been inside since] what? 1999?
>my dad is the type of person who would have always had the latest iPhone
and
>My dad has been incarcerated my whole life, since I was 1 year old.
>Of course, when I was a kid, he would never use me for stuff like that because I think he was trying to raise me — impart knowledge to me, you know, or whatever dads do.
